Beautiful bedroom

Renting can be tough when you love interiors but we were lucky in that the main rooms in our flat are pretty neutral. No bold wallpaper choices or patterned carpets like plenty we came across when we were looking.

As I mentioned in my earlier blog post, I don't really like our kitchen or bathroom but love our hallway, two bedrooms and living room. Of course, they're not exactly how I'd have them if it were our home but over the past 11 months, I've filled them with things I love to look at and I'm pretty with them.

One of my favourite spaces in our flat is the spare bedroom - which you'll probably already know if you follow me on Instagram!

This room is the biggest of the two, but we prefer to sleep in the other room as its super cosy with a carpet and thick blackout curtains.

The room is big enough for a double bed, wardrobe, draws, 2 bedside tables and a desk. The walls are a light grey - the perfect backdrop for any colour theme. (Not exactly sure what paint was used but I'm going to have a hunt through some tins in a cupboard under the stairs when I get a minute)

I love this space - its really calming and I could spend hours here on a weekend just pottering on, reading a book or catching up on my latest Netflix obsession - which if you're wondering is currently Grace and Frankie (only on season one).

Sunday thoughts

I've always had a love/hate relationship with Sundays. Love that its another full day of doing whatever I want but HATE that anxious feeling I get mid afternoon when I think about my week ahead! Who's with me?

Well not today! I've had a lovely weekend with one of my best friends and our pups. We wandered round Tynemouth market then headed to the beach where Ronnie and Teddy had so much fun and tired each other out.

We've chilled all afternoon at home, keeping up with the Kardashians and scrolling Pinterest searching for dreamy interiors and beautiful quotes.

Here's a few of my favourite quotes, hoping they can bring you a little positivity if you're feeling worried about the week ahead. We can do it!

Happy Heaton home

I really wish I'd kept blogging last year as we moved into our little flat in Heaton and I wish I'd documented it.

In February we'll have lived here for a year and I honestly don't know where that time has gone! Moving to Heaton is one of the best things I've done and although its not perfect and I can't decorate it exactly how I want it, I love our little flat. I could spend hours faffing and taking photos of it and I'm so happy I finally have somewhere to share all my pictures, other than my little Instagram grid!

We're currently renting (not the dream but that's a whole other blog post) and with renting comes restraints on what you can achieve in terms of home decor. I don't really like my kitchen or bathroom and of course, there are lots of other things I'd change if I could but I'm really into interiors and so trying to make it as homely as possible. I follow so many interior/home accounts on Instagram and take so much inspiration from them, trying to recreate looks but on a budget.

Hopefully I'll eventually be able to share my top tips for decorating on a budget and making your home your own while renting.

New year, new(ish) blog

Every January I tell myself I'm going to start a lifestyle blog. I even get as far as writing a few posts before deleting them and giving up. Well, with another new year comes another bid to give this whole blogging thing a go, so bare with me!

Expect to see plenty of pictures of food and way too many of my dog, some snaps of my flat and maybe some DIY (let's see how we get on with this first).

Anyway, I'm not sure what else to say right now so I'll leave you with this cute snap of Ronnie.
